Awaking from a slumber & finding your way back to photography can be a lengthy process; it might take weeks, months or even years. It all boils down to understanding the root cause & solving it.
As I said in an earlier blog, mine was related to lack of inspiration; however I wasn't sure who or what is to blame.
Eventually, I realised that it was a disconnection or lack of trust between my camera & I. Yes, my beloved Canon 5D Mark III had treated me well, stood by me & most often delivered when called upon, yet that was not enough.
I was always fascinated with surreal, dark imagery & for some reason, I wasn't capable of creating something of that nature with my camera. Maybe it was my fault, maybe it was the camera's, it didn't really matter ... something had to change.
So here I took one of the toughest decisions I ever had, getting rid of the bulky Canon 5D Mark III in favor of something more compact yet offering a higher dynamic range.
